PERSONALITY:
A natural liar, Halott is one of those people you should never trust - but always will. Armed with a charming smile and his boyish good looks, this member of the living dead is ruthless when it comes to taking both lives and hearts.
Though Halott has his serious moments, the majority of his personality is absorbed by a casual friendlessness one wouldn’t expect from someone so dangerous. He’s the type who doesn’t try to hard to stick out in a negative sense, preferring to only catch a person’s eye when he’s playing nice. He’ll happily greet other Servants, even form relationships with them. His kindness, though, is a mask; a battle tactic. In reality, the only thing that really matters to him is survival and enjoying himself, regardless of the consequences to those around him. He’ll gladly butcher a ‘friend’, should they get in his path, and he’s even eaten his fair share of lovers.
Despite all his charms, it's undeniable that Halott is a major geek. Often making references to popular anime, manga and videogames, one could go as far as to call Halott an otaku. He often refers to the one who turned him into a vampire as a yandere and himself as moe, claiming it's the reason people adore him so much. Halott's geek-ness extends to the point that if someone makes a mistake in their referencing, he's sure to jump on it, more often than not insulting their lack of intelligence for forgetting even the smallest detail.
Another rather negative factor of Halott's personality is his perverse nature. Having something bordering a fetish for watching people blush, Halott often makes makes small comments of a highly sexual nature, and, if the mood takes him, even extremely inappropriate noises. If the mood takes him, Halott can even become quite handsy with a person, usually letting his hands wander until he's forced to stop. It's not only friends or people he likes who are forced to suffer through Halott's perversities; anyone, including enemies are subjected to Halott's flirtatious gestures, anyone who tries to stop him immediately being labeled as a tsundere.
He has a keen ability to see through lies and poker faces - most likely developed through lying to others most of his life - and will often casually commenting on this talent. When he, himself, is asked who’s side he’s on, Halott will always reply that it’s more exciting for that to be left a mystery. The truth is, Halott has no real attachments to anybody, therefor not having a true side. Unless someone interests him, enough, he’ll remain chaotic neutral to the end - even when he claims he’ll serve his Master to the end.
The only trait that could be considered a hint to his status as ‘Dead’ and not as a full vampire, is his intense masochism. While he seems to be far more suited to domination, judging by his ability to manipulate, lie and cheat his way through any social situation, Halott is far more accustomed to submission through abuse. Being screamed at, threatened, and even physically attacked energizes him, and pushes him to go just a little bit further. While this may seem to make him an excellent battle partner solely because he enjoys pain in all forms, his masochism extends solely to his Master or those he trusts. Being bossed around by anyone he deems lesser to himself is not in the cards for Halott, and he’ll gladly remind any punk who forget that with a fist to the face.
That serious side mentioned way above? It's hard to find. Very hard to find. In fact, it only appears when Halott begins to consider being so soft is boring for his 'audience'. At that stage, the gloves come off - not literally, those are nice gloves - and any thought of mercy or sympathy is gone. You're going to die and it's going to hurt. Nothing else draws out this side of Halott, though, due to his extreme apathy towards living beings.
HISTORY:
Over a hundred years ago, a little boy was in love with cars. His Father, a locomotive dealer, often took his son to work on the weekends, letting him play with the steering wheels and prod the hubcaps. Over time, the boy's love grew, and he found himself passionate about all sorts of vehicles. Earning himself work in a local garage, the Hungarian lad spent his time mastering the art of repairing cars and designing new ones. By the age of twenty-two, the boy had grown into a man; one more with a genius knowledge of vehicles and several designs for revolutionary forms of transport under his arm. Unfortunately, he disappeared before the designs could be down to anyone. With his body never found, people eventually forgot about the strange man who spent all his time in the local garage, moving on with time and finding new mechanics to replace him.
Little did they know, that man, Halott Engdelmes, was far from dead.
After being turned into something close to a vampire, Halott abandoned his tiny village, heading towards England in hopes of hunting down the vampire who destroyed his life. After fifty or so years of desperate searching, Halott gave up the hunt, and resigned himself to a life of sex, gambling and other pleasures he would have denied himself, should he have been human. Although, Europe got a little dull after decades of visiting the bars, clubs and casinos; so, where else was there to go? Bored with Western culture, the 'young' vampire turned his sights towards Japan. Surely there was something to tickle his fancy there.
Too bad all he found was a war.
