PERSONALITY:
Tsubaki is a very confident, even forceful girl. She’s never been one to just sit back and let others take charge. If she knows the answer in class, she’ll raise her hand. If something requires teamwork, chances are she’ll be the one leading the others. If she wants something, she’ll seize it. Naysayers might say she’s domineering and bossy, but others call her dedicated and focused.

This drive comes from her desire to excel in everything she sets her mind on. She believes that if something is worth doing, it is worth doing with all your heart. She expects nothing but perfection from herself. While she does tend to be a harsh taskmaster, effort is what Tsubaki wants to see, not results. She respects the hard worker more than the lazy genius.

Due to always putting herself in a position where she is leading others and the amount of times she is required to behave properly in front of adults, she has a very mature and cool attitude, but also kind of distant. Still, on the occasions she is able to take off her mask and be herself, Tsubaki can be quite playful, even childish at times. Though she tries to hide it, she loves the chance to socialise and have fun with others her age.

HISTORY:
As the daughter of a prosecuting lawyer and a journalist, Tsubaki has lacked little in her life. Unfortunately, while they didn’t have to worry about money, it did mean that her parents had to spend a lot of time away from their children. Her grandparents often took care of her and her little sister, Michiko, but even still, there were times where she was the oldest person in the house. Despite this, she looked up to her parents, who were very successful individuals, and wanted to be like them.

Tsubaki spent most of her time either studying or taking care of her little sister, and she would often turn down invitations from friends to go out and have fun in order to focus on things that she thought was important. When she joined the Kendo club out of a desire to get fit and learn discipline, things started to change. She got to know her fellow club members and began opening up. There was more to life than just trying to be successful. She found that she genuinely enjoyed the sport, too. In her second year of high school, she even managed to become the vice-captain of the club. Though she was still getting used to things, Tsubaki was finally starting to live her life instead of simply preparing for it.

EXTRA INFORMATION:
In addition to being vice-captain of the Kendo club, Tsubaki is also the representative of her class, and she works part time as a shrine maiden.

WEAPON:
Shinai – a bamboo sword used during kendo practice. It can cause some serious pain, but the lightness of the weapon and its flexibility make it unsuited for a real battle.

Bokken – a wooden sword used during kendo practice. It is a very solid weapon, and hitting someone with it is unadvised unless they are wearing armour or if you truly wish to hurt them.

Tenrai Seishin – The Divine Soul is a sword that resides in the shrine Tsubaki works at. Legend says that it was used by an unknown man of imperial descent to seal away a demon. The sword is hidden from the public, but occasionally she is required to clean the room it is stored in. Despite being warned not to touch it, she can’t help but be curious about what it would be like to swing a sword with such a history.

Most people are unable to get close without feeling ill. The blade itself grants the wielder exceptional strength and speed, and cuts caused by it will fester and decay at a rapid rate. The wielder will quickly be consumed, becoming a demonic caricature of themselves.
