THE FUTURE OF FUYUKI CITY, 3:00AM
-----------------------------------------------------------------
It started off as a peaceful slumber.
Tired from work, Kou had went to bed early at 12 or so, after having a quick dinner and shower. Prior to this night, all of his visions were experienced while he was awake, never while asleep, and they never foretold anything as drastic as this. The vision replaced the dream he was having abruptly, and unlike most visions of the future, it was pretty clear.
The city was consumed by flames. Fire danced among the wreckage of various buildings and cars, and corpses, too, were visible. But he didn't just see the destruction and mayhem of Fuyuki, no - he also saw himself standing among the debris and flames.
By his side was a girl he didn't recognize that appeared to be his age, with long red hair,
His lips were moving, but Kou was unsure of what the 'him' in the dream was talking about, except for three words: Holy Grail War.
Flames began to consume the debris surrounding himself and the girl, and he was awoken immediately.
Breathing heavily, he stared at the ceiling from his bed for a bit, as if coming to terms with what he saw in his dreams. The covers were mostly kicked off of him, and he was bleeding from his nose.
"What the hell kind of dream was that?"
Kou asked aloud, recalling in perfect detail what happened in the dream. Feeling the blood trickle down over his upper lip, he got out of bed and went into the other room of his apartment, which served as both his living room and kitchen while leading into the small bathroom.
After cleaning his nose in the bathroom and relieving himself, he got a drink of water from the kitchen, mulling over what was said and implied in the vision.
"Holy Grail War..."
He muttered, recalling that that was the only thing he heard himself say in the dream.
"Is that what's going to destroy the city?"
Never before were his visions foretelling of catastrophes to that caliber, they mostly saw smaller things, like someone breaking their leg.
But, he wondered, what was he supposed to do about this war that would apparently take place in Fuyuki? He decided he'd look it up later today, having a good feeling that the library had a few books on the issue. Though, even with the information about the event referred to in his vision, what was he supposed to do to prevent it?
