- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - PERSONALITY: Achilles is a very self-centred woman. There is one thing that she cares about and loves above all else and that is herself. The world revolves around her, and if she isn't getting her way, something is terribly wrong. Temper tantrums and raging at the unfairness of it all are par for the course. Still, provided that she is treated with the respect and reverence she believes is her due, she can be quite civil, even friendly. People who somehow liven up her world are favourites, whether because of their skill, attractiveness or personality. Get on her bad side, however, and she will not forget or forgive.
Passion and emotion drive her rather than logic and reason. It doesn't help that she is almost bipolar and therefore very difficult to predict. On one hand, this can make her a detriment to her allies, but on the other, her enemies have no idea how she will act, either. That isn't to say that she will ignore all reason, but she is much more inclined to go with her gut instincts.
HISTORY: Pyrrha was born to Thetis, a goddess of the Sea, and Peleus, the king of Aegina. It was prophesied that any child of Thetis would grow up to be greater than their father, and Peleus was already a great man, having been a hero himself. As such, he sent his daughter to be educated by Chiron, a friend of his well known for his breadth of knowledge. There Pyrrha learned much, and much more about combat. She was able to outrun deer, and killed a boar single-handedly when she was six. Even as a child she was unruly, and so Chiron dubbed her 'Achilles', for she would bring grief to her people.
When her training with Chiron finished, she was sent away to a neighbouring kingdom to complete her studies, where she met Patroclus. They became very close friends, and later, lovers. When she turned nine, a prophecy from the seer Calchas declared Troy would never fall without her help.
Her mother knew that her daughter would die if she fought in the Trojan War, and hid her amongst the daughters of the king of Scyrus. Pyrrus seduced one of his daughters and was content with life until Odysseus showed up to recruit her for the Greek army. There, he tricked her into revealing her identity by pretending that the island was under attack. While the other girls ran for cover, Pyrrus grabbed a spear and shield to help in the defence. Her cover was blown.
Thetis begged her not to go to war, telling her of the prophecy that she would live a long, happy life if she stayed home, but die a glorious death if she went to war. Pyrrus didn't hesitate in her decision to fight at Troy if it meant being immortalised in history, and took on the name her old teacher had given her. Seeing that it was useless, Thetis instead decided to fight fate and had Hephaestus make her a suit of armour that would make her nigh invincible.
At Troy, all of her battles were brilliant bloodbaths, and the Trojans were terrified of the warrior who could not die. She loved the fighting and the spoils that came from warfare. However, when the leader of the Greek forces, Agamemnon, seized the concubine Briseis to replace the one he had lost, she was so furious that she refused to fight. Nothing would persuade her, not even her return along with vast treasures. She did, however, permit Patroclus to wear her armour in combat.
This led to the death of her lover at the hands of Hector, the champion of the Trojans. It was only this greater insult that brought Achilles out of her tent and back into the fray. She slew Hector and desecrated his body in a fit of rage. Her return to the battlefield returned the advantage to the Greeks.
On the eve of their victory, however, Paris shot Achilles in the heel with an arrow. Normally this would be nothing more than a minor hindrance, but it was tipped with the venom of a hydra, capable of slaying even demigods. After her funeral, Thetis and her 49 sisters collected her ash and placed it in an urn along with the ashes of Patroclus, and returned to the sea.

[/b] - At this rank, spells on the level of those consisting of three or less lines will be cancelled, and even greater incantations will suffer penalties. BRAVERY: B - At this rank, Achilles is highly resistant to all mental interferences, including distractions, emotions and illusions. Also, in a pinch, her Strength rank improves by ONE and her Luck stat gains a "+". DIVINITY: A - Achilles is the daughter of Thetis, a goddess, and is therefore a demigod. INSTINCT: B - Achilles possesses a powerful sixth sense, and is able to 'feel' the most favourable outcome for herself in battle. CHARISMA: C - At this rank, Achilles is able to command and effectively use the abilities of a large number - about a thousand or so - of warriors.[/ul][/size][/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - NOBLE PHANTASM:
[/b] This Noble Phantasm is the basis of Achilles' famed invincibility on the battle field. Forged by Hephaestus at the behest of her mother, it negates attacks of A rank and lower, and even attacks greater than this have difficulty penetrating the thick plate, doing only minimal damage. Achilles' famous weakness, her heel, was not originally mentioned in The Iliad, but only in later texts. However, as it has become inseparable with her legend, her left heel is vulnerable to all attacks. RANK: A TYPE: N/A RANGE: N/A MAX. TARGETS: N/A ASH SPEAR • BRINGER OF LIFE AND DEATHAchilles possess a 2 metre long spear that was created by Chiron as a graduation gift. Wounds caused by it cannot be healed by normal means. Only thing I question is how does the spear heal the wounds it causes?

The spear heals by scraping fragments of it into the wound. It comes from when Achilles wounded Telephus, and an oracle foretold that "He that wounded shall heal." Odysseus reasoned that the spear had inflicted the wound; therefore, the spear must be able to heal it. Pieces of the spear were scraped off onto the wound and Telephus was healed.
It bothers me when myths share common elements. Damnit Zero Lancer!
